When to Visit the Emergency Department
Visit Hatemi Hospital’s Emergency Department for serious, urgent, or life-threatening medical conditions, including mental health emergencies.
Our Emergency Department is equipped to provide immediate and specialized care for conditions such as:
- Major injuries from accidents or falls
- Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
- Intense chest or abdominal pain or pressure
- Stroke symptoms such as sudden weakness, facial drooping, or slurred speech
- Sudden loss of consciousness or responsiveness
- Severe bleeding that does not stop
- At risk of or are threatening to seriously harm themselves or others. You can also access crisis intervention and suicide prevention services.
- TSeeing or hearing things.
- Believing things that are not true.
- Unable to care for themselves such as not eating, sleeping, bathing, getting out of bed or dressing.
- Still having trouble with symptoms even after they tried treatment with therapy, medication and support.
